What Scares You? (12:45 pm, room 705)
Is it thunder? Dolls? Spiders? Or clowns? This panel examines what scares people both in real life and in fiction, and what can make something scary when it’s presented in one way and yet not in another. What is fear? And why do some people enjoy being scared? Audience members are encouraged to express their fears as well. That is—if you’re not too scared! Moderated by Richard S. Todd.
Calling All Ghost Hunters (5:15 pm, room 717A)
You may not need a license to hunt ghosts, but that doesn’t mean you should dive right into a night of specter detecting without a few of the basic items all ghostbuster wannabees should have with them! Ghost huntress extraordinaire Sèphera Girón demonstrates how to listen for ghosts on audio recordings, communicate with spirits with your flashlight, debunk fake ghost photos, and keep accurate records of your paranormal activities. Sorry, proton packs are not included.

Poe vs Lovecraft (5:45 pm, room 705)
